COVID-19 Dojo Safety
Windsong dojo re-opened for in-person classes in June 2020. At that time, the decision was made to limit our classes to existing members of the dojo. In an effort to limit interactions and keep our students safe, the board decided to extend this through at least November 2020. We will NOT be accepting new students or visitors to the dojo during this time. Current students are welcome to attend classes, with the following precautions:
- COVID-19 waiver signed
- Please wash hands before stepping onto the mat
- Please take temperature before stepping onto the mat
- Masks are encouraged (and may be required by some teachers)
If a student tests positive for COVID-19
At the board meeting in August, we have adopted the following guidelines for how the dojo will respond if an active student does test positive for COVID-19:
- The dojo member will refrain from coming to the dojo for 2 weeks. This will be extended if the person develops symptoms of COVID-19 after a positive test. If the class instructor is the first to discover a person with a positive test or with COVID-19 symptoms, the class instructor must inform a board member as soon as possible.
- We will ask for consent from the person and, if obtained, will inform any other dojo members with whom the person has been in contact of the positive test and/or symptoms.
- We will inform all dojo members that there has been a person (we will not identify the person unless the person consents) with a positive COVID-19 test and the date of the test.
- Any further action to maintain a healthy dojo environment will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
