When returning to standing from the ground, there’s a safe way to do it if uke is nearby.

From hands and knees, look behind you and kick. Again, keep your foot parallel to the floor.

Take a step…

… then a second…

… and kick again! If uke has tried to follow you through getting up, this kick will catch him.

And now beat uke with the pebbles thrown by your feet as you run away!
